AARP gives us a “reality check” when we turn 50. Usually on our 50th birthday, an application for membership arrives in the mail. (The organization goes by AARP now … it was formerly known as the American Association for Retired Persons.)
AARP recently gave us a second “reality check.”
It gave us the option of renewing for one year for $16, or paying $200 for a “lifetime” membership.
We’d have to live 12.5 years for a “lifetime” membership to pay for itself.
Makes one think!
