The last time I talked to him was in January or February. He expressed contempt for Donald Trump.

“I can’t stand him,” the Vero Beach resident said. “He’s an arrogant (expletive).”

He went on a mini-rant against Trump, using more choice words to describe him.

At the time, Trump was the candidate to beat for the Republican nomination for president. It was far from over, though.

Last week, I called him to see if his view of Trump had changed.

“I’m going to vote for him,” he said. “I have to … he’s the Republican nominee.”
